We serve as a catalyst for social change to end homelessness in the Oakland area by providing and expanding transitional housing and supportive services to include men of all ages as they transform their lives into self-sufficiency.
We are a model community dedicated to providing services to meet the complex and challenging needs of our community’s most vulnerable by creating an environment where life transformation occurs from the inside out through the power of the Gospel.
We honor God’s Presence through practicing Godly disciplines of prayer, confession, sharing of testimonies, and reading God’s Word.
We love each other well by seeking the best interest of both the person and the community. We believe that we are all broken and in need of healing and growth to achieve wholeness.
We seek God’s grace to use innovation and creativity to continually improve program services, administrative processes, policies, and procedures.

Today, under the leadership of Zirl Wilson, Lu Lu's House consists of an eight high-quality structured sober living facility where men achieve independence, connect with community and develop the life skills necessary to thrive. But, it’s our unparalleled history and the uniqueness of our approach which sets us apart.
In Fall 2021, our first home opened in Oakland California on 8850 MacArthur Blvd. Within a decade, we will expand to a network of homes in the Bay Area and beyond.

At Lu Lu's House, we have been shaping the future for nearly 4 years. No matter where someone is in their journey, we want to have a next step for them toward education, employment, housing, independence and healing.
Since 2021, Lu Lu's House has been a safe refuge for the homeless and hurting people in our community. Thanks to the prayers, compassion and generosity of our supporters, we are making a real difference for those who have been devastated by homelessness and poverty.
